You can just push the bales over to the cow shed with the tractor ( lol, push 4/5 at a time, it's good steering practice). I then drive it up to the drop off point for the horse barn (I did it in the medium size one) and basically drop off all my loose hay that way. You just have to buy the one in the shop that's next to the one that makes bales then you can put them on the icon with the cow. For horses, I round bale at 180 size and then ground everything up in a mixer. I have a ranch where I'm completely self sufficient in feeding my animals. I had to do a lot of trial and error with this.
